Our Combined Experience
We are experienced social workers in supporting children and families under the youth justice service and care experienced children. We're also experienced in working with adults with learning disabilities and adults with mental health difficulties.
Founded by experienced social workers and trauma-informed emotional wellbeing practitioners, Whispers Equine brings together years of experience in supporting children, young people, and families. Our team combines a strong foundation in social work values with specialist training in equine-assisted learning, therapeutic approaches, and emotional wellbeing.

Ruby is our confident lead mare, known for her strength and independence. She takes a straightforward, no-nonsense approach to life, but for those who take the time to build trust, she reveals a big heart and a deeply caring nature.

Gulliver IV (Gully) is our speedy little softie, full of fun and personality. He loves people, enjoys a good cwtch, and is always ready to play or strike a pose for the camera. With his affectionate nature, he brings both joy and energy to the herd.

Oscar is our handsome, sensitive horse with a heart for everyone—both humans and fellow horses. Known for his cleverness and curiosity, he is eager to please and will go the extra mile for a treat. His affectionate and gentle nature makes him a beloved member of the herd.

Belle is a smart, clever, and handsome horse who is enjoying life after his racing career. Now retired from racing, he appreciates the slower pace of showjumping and brings intelligence, calmness, and charm to every session.

Harvey is a strong and dependable racehorse who takes everything in his stride. Even while continuing his racing career, he remains calm, steady, and a reassuring presence during sessions with people.

Sky is an independent and thoughtful section D mare with a caring and gentle nature. She has a laid-back attitude but also a spirited streak, bringing both calmness and energy to the herd.

Woody is a handsome and playful pony with a sensitive nature. He enjoys gymkhana games, playing with treats, and spending time relaxing with his companions, bringing both fun and warmth to the herd.

Jet, also known as Jeff, may be small but he is full of personality and charm. Confident and spirited, he struts through life with style, and his affectionate nature shines for those who win his heart—usually with a treat.

Bonnie, the smallest of the herd, may be tiny in size but she is wise beyond her years. With a calm and gentle nature, she enjoys meeting new people and is especially fond of pamper sessions, bringing warmth and charm to every interaction.

Miami is a kind and gentle soul who joined us after having two foals. Loving and affectionate, she enjoys gymkhana games and showjumping, bringing a sweet and calm presence to the herd.

Buddy
Buddy may be small, but he's bursting with personality! This tiny bundle of mischief is known for his cheeky grin, cuddly nature, and impressive talent for escaping from just about anywhere. If there's a gate unlatched or a snack within reach, Buddy will find it first! Behind the mischief, though, Buddy has the softest heart. He loves attention, cuddles, and making people smile. His playful spirit reminds everyone at Whispers Equine that it's okay to be curious, brave, and a little bit bold. Whether he's trotting proudly around the yard or sneaking an extra mouthful of hay, Buddy brings laughter, warmth, and plenty of joy to every session.

Frosty by name, and often judged as being frosty by nature - but that's far from the truth. Frosty's calm, steady presence hides a deeply sensitive soul who likes to take his time getting to know people. His careful approach isn't standoffish; it's his way of keeping safe and checking out whether those around him - people or horses - can be trusted. Once Frosty decides you've earned his trust, he becomes one of the most loyal companions you could hope for. He listens, observes, and connects in quiet but powerful ways. Frosty reminds everyone at Whispers Equine that trust takes time - and that being cautious doesn't mean being cold. It means being wise.
